Yes, it's that time of year. Oh so snugly and cozy. Production knitting is the process! Sunday afternoons, leaves falling, knitting away on Juno and Flying Geese socks. Almost the best way to spend an afternoon!!
And hooray for flannel sheets! So snuggly and comforting. Dad used to put rocks in the fire up at the cabin. At bedtime, he'd pull out a hot rock and wrap it in a towel for each of us. It warmed the bed so wonderfully! Then in the middle of the night, when it was stone cold, you would wind up nudging it out of bed. Thunk! I was lying awake one night and heard the rocks leave the beds all over the house. I'd be just about asleep and hear, "Thunk" and swim to alertness to identify the noise. Then, just about asleep again, another "thunk." It was kind of neat, like the whole family checking in.
I'm a single mom who enjoys every moment with my family - I am blessed with awesome kids who luckily put up with my knitting! If I could drive, knit and read at the same time with my kids in the car.....

What a happy memory you evoked! Thanks.
